The Florida Tiny House Festival 2017 takes place
Nov. 17 through 19, at St. Johns County Fairgrounds, 5840 S.R. 207, Elkton.
The Tiny House Festival seeks to educate and promote the Tiny House lifestyle and features model homes, workshops, house tours, live entertainment, speakers, kids’ activities, and more. For information, call (954) 558-3619 or go to https://www.visitstaugustine.com/event/florida-tiny-house-festival/.
More than 60,000 people attended the festival last year. Vendors will be set up throughout the fairgrounds with houses, tools, and guides to tiny house building for sale.
Speakers include Derek “Deek” Diedricksen, host of HGTV’s “Tiny House Builders,” Alexis Stephens and Christian Parsons from Tiny House Expeiditon which documents tiny homeowners, Michelle Bredeson Boyle, co-host of the Tiny House Podcast, and Kari “Yurt Grrl” Cooper who is a full-time yurt dweller and expert.
Other guests include a Builder & Trade Professionals Q&A panel, specialists, and a homeowner panel.
Along with tiny houses, guests will be able to see renovated campers and school buses. The event is dog-friendly so feel free to bring a pet along.
For kids, there will be a “Tiny Tot Town” with story time featuring the reading of the children’s book, “The Big Adventures of Tiny House.” There will also be other kid activities to get the young ones interested in tiny living.
