St. Augustine Beach’s Surf Illumination lighting festival kicks off the holiday season on Friday, Nov. 17,  4 to 8 p.m., at St. Johns County Pier Park, 350 A1A Beach Blvd, St. Augustine. The official lighting of the seasonal tree by the Mayor of St. Augustine Beach takes place at dusk, approximately 5:30 p.m.

Illumination special activities at the Pier include  photos with Santa, holiday music, a bounce house, Sparky the Clown, balloon twisting, face painting and some very special Christmas shopping opportunities with several local art and craft vendors. St. Augustine Beach lights up A1A Beach Boulevard as a dazzling addition to  St. Augustine’s world-famous Nights of Lights festival and holiday lighting display for which almost three million white lights go on all over St. Augustine for the holidays.

Surf Illumination is a festival all in itself, with fun activities and delicious food and drink for everyone in the family, at the St. Johns County Pier.

Local restaurants offer food and beverages and many local arts and crafts vendors provide convenient shopping for the holiday season. The St. Augustine Youth Orchestra will return for another live performance. Santa is there, of course, along with musical performers and traditional carolers, making it fun for the whole family.

Admission: Free. For more information, call (904) 347-8007 or visit http://www.sabca.org/?page_id=60/.
