Day of gardening sessions and shopping

To kick off the spring gardening season, a Day of Gardening 2018 will take place Saturday, Feb. 24, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Duval County Extension, 1010 McDuff Avenue N., Jacksonville.
Doors open at 8:30 a.m.

Enjoy a day of gardening topics while you shop with local vendors to get ready for the growing season. General session topics include: Putting Out the Welcome Mat for Pollinators, and Foraging for Edible & Medicinal Plants.
Breakout Session one (choose 1): Managing Tough Weeds, Top Tomato Picks, Ideas for Themed Gardens
Breakout Session two (choose 1): Mythbusters: Food Labels, Tool Time: Sharpening & Maintenance Tips, Storm Hardy Trees
The cost is $20 to attend and the deadline to register is Friday, Feb. 16. This fee will include a light lunch, snacks and handouts.
